Who cares
Constituencies. The deliberate audience scope is the "first" test of the "general hitchhiker public," defined as "people who are interested in the future of the planet," Hitchhiker and humour fans "a little bit pissed off and depressed" with the "constant" "doom scrum," the wars and negativity. Also named: "crypto communities and crypto projects that want to reach outside the bubble"; "sustainable food farming" and "farm to fork" people; restaurants, cafes, community centres; independent and "local radio stations"; social-media observers who catch it secondhand ("didn't you see don't panic festival happened on the weekend"). Ethereum/Vitalik care because they "need to become more mainstreamly relevant" and "be seen" making "a positive contribution."
Nuance or tension. The surprise inversion is the tone: not "worthy turtle-and-plastic-bag" environmentalism but "a celebration of doom and doom scrolling and apocalypse" that resolves on "don't panic." Scope is "niche but global anywhere," explicitly not the World-Cup-pub crowd. One participant repeatedly presses how this avoids being "really depressing," "trite and tired," or "very worthy"; the answer is order-of-magnitude-more-absurd fiction, not preachiness.
