Connect with Star
Your VTA, your chosen perspective

The planned connection uses your VTA and the Trust Spanning Protocol to carry a scoped exchange for you or your agent. You choose what is presented; the receiving service checks the request before a view is shared.

This guide has no VTA connection adapter yet. Opening Star does not connect an identity or send a key.

guide / Vision / What changes: Sovereign Compute

What changes

Stated changes. The defining shift is the stretch goal itself: "a sufficient network of peer-to-peer sovereign data centres, stroke home labs that are networked together with the national compute and data capacity to be viable and living, that is economically sustainable and growing." Concretely, communities gain leverage they did not have: Indigenous and community data owners can "protect our ownership, but also leverage the benefits of these models." Researchers and universities get "their own compute, not to just be subject to the whims of the big models, to turn them off and on, post-fable." The framing widens from technical to structural sovereignty.

Hedged or possible. The summit is conditional. The network only counts when "we can say, according reliably, that this network is better and looks like it's going to have a chance at out-computing the big foundation models." "A chance" is the hedge. The partnership conflict is an open risk: launching "an alternative to Anthropic and OpenAI" while "asking for, like, 42 billion in compute" means "those two things won't work together."
