How it 'becomes real'
Asked directly. Asked "what is the feeling that this is becoming real," the answer is a shift from chasing to being sought: "we've come off stage and people want to start knocking on our door and they approach us rather than us having to approach people" โ "that's a shift in feeling." Concretely: "if I was to get an investment on this it would immediately make it real," and "getting in a room with an investor and for them to actually almost be courting you... making it click."
Texture from elsewhere. Realness imagery recurs across the session: "you can go to an event and stand in a corner and you'll always be busy." For the app, "it's the same metric of like people downloading and people showing people using it." A vivid scene: walking "past someone" at a conference and hearing "oh yeah I just spoke to dave about this and check out this app... you can see the live stream right now" โ "us being an observer to our own project." The strongest marker: "if the web summit endorsed and even funded the hitchhiker's guide to the web summit," which "should be like an objective when we get there."
