The lattice lab improbable engine โ a Three.js instrument that seats a Federated Wiki knowledge commons on the 64-vertex lattice torus, built for Transmediale 2027 and the five Lattice Labs. The Six Strands are the fixed instrument; the field it plays is whatever wiki farm feeds it.
What it does: live pages from a local farm appear as stars near their strand, sitemap links weave the Promise Graph, and the paths a visitor click-walks accrue as a Trust Graph trail with a path-integral tracer. Walks can be saved as named constellations and exported. A fold slider morphs the torus open into the flat 8x8 codex and back โ see Lattice Torus Geometry for why they are the same object.
The engine is read-only toward every wiki, runs entirely on the visitor's machine, and bakes nothing. It answers the Shared Lexicon Lattice claim directly: the visualisation of the link structure is the exhibit.
In the torus void, five crystal plaquettes ring the hearth โ a 5x5 ground-state lattice for each lab, standing at its strand's azimuth in its hue, shimmering but settled. This takes the garden's condensed-matter framing literally: a lab is a regular arrangement whose collective properties emerge from local coupling. The hearth is the centre itself, so it carries no crystal.
To run it: download the bundle from the assets folder of the mitch subwiki, unzip, then node serve.mjs and open localhost:4242. Full instructions travel inside the bundle โ see Run Your Own Grid.

The bundle also travels with this site โ the same improbable-engine.zip, served locally so the snapshot carries its own engine:
