Keeps the Rostra in the Agora — the public-law face: he proclaims the ratified law in the open and guards it, holding the gate that cannot be charmed (a public oath's witnesses are drawn from daylight, not chosen by the one who swore). Where Nomia his sister writes the law, Rhetor upholds it. Greek ῥήτωρ (orator) — the masculine of ῥήτρα, the ordinance she writes. V36 = Protection + Connection (the public law shields and binds in the open); its complement is Nomia's V27 (27 ⊕ 36 = 63 — the ⚔️⊥🧙 pair as brother and sister).
