The Game of 42 opens at the flower: a pure 6 + 1 compression of the whole game. Six petals โ one per axis, each a heptad of seven compressed to a single mage โ around one centre, the City seal (the seventh). Behind the petals all forty-two stations rest as a phyllotactic spiral of seeds: the full game the flower carries.
You play it the way you play the rest of the game โ fill in information, assign a role, add detail. Seat each mage and its petal blooms; one of six pips lights. At six the centre seal lights and the flower can fold โ a golden-angle (137.508ยฐ) twist that closes the hexagon toward the star (the capture preview).
