the Game of 42 as an instance of Privacy is Value V5
This doc proves the Game of 42 is not a metaphor bolted onto the model. It is a constructive instance of it. Every game element below resolves to a named term in the published canon.

a constellation is mapped one star at a time, and a quorum is filled one promise at a time
0. Verdict
The Game of 42 walks the Three Graphs Model in order: an empty board is the Knowledge Graph, the forty-two VRC edges are the Promise Graph, the sealed game is the Trust Graph. The fold is the Path Integral made visible. The seal is the holographic bound: the boundary encodes the bulk. The whole board obeys the V5 equation: any axis at zero zeros the whole.
Four of the six roots are the canonical Four Forces. The fill is a constellation evocation, which is a Swordsman operation. Filling a slot is a VRC, which is a promise bundle under Promise Theory.
1. The equation, Φ_v5 = Φ_agent · Φ_data · Φ_inference
[Architectural] The model's separation term is multiplicative across three orthogonal axes. Collapse any one and the whole collapses. The Game of 42 enforces this as the board-seal rule, and the three axes appear inside the game as live structure.
| V5 axis | What it separates | In the Game of 42 |
|---|---|---|
| Φ_agent | Swordsman ⊥ Mage | The protection root (Swordsman, amber) and the delegation root (Mage, sapphire) are two of the six roots; their ⊥ is the Gap that no trust task may bridge |
| Φ_data | Provider₁ ⊥ Provider₂ | The forty-two members and their VRC infrastructure must stay distributed; concentration is penalised. Canonical form 1 − max_j(share_j): one provider holding every edge drives Φ_data to zero |
| Φ_inference | Generator ⊥ Solver | The vision fish (head, reason and propose) ⊥ the mice (hands, execute and build). The head/hands split inside every heptad is the Generator-Solver separation |
Collapse as a game rule. The board reaches sealed only when all six heptads lock. Any incomplete heptad keeps the board open. This is Φ_v5 -> 0 on any axis, made into a gate, not a metaphor. See GAME-FLOW.md section 3.
Live instrument. This is the three-axis gate (C7) on agentprivacy.ai/model/atlas: drag any axis to zero and the product
Φ_v5 = Φ_agent · Φ_data · Φ_inferencecollapses. The board-seal rule is that gate made into a board — an incomplete heptad is an axis held below the gate.
The inference mapping is the strongest new fit: vision fish are the Generator, mice are the Solver, and their separation is already required by the fill order. Privacy by construction, on every heptad.
2. The Three Graphs Model
[Architectural] The model defines the person as the overlap of three independently derivable graphs. The Game of 42 is a constructive walk through all three.
| Graph | Model meaning | Game of 42 stage |
|---|---|---|
| Knowledge Graph | substrate, what you can promise | the empty board: forty-two open slots, the positions available |
| Promise Graph | bilateral commitments, what you do promise (VRCs live here) | the forty-two VRC edges as they are issued, one per slot |
| Trust Graph | emergent, which promises were kept | the sealed game: the group seal, the node entered into the network |
The model says the overlap is the person and no single community owns that intersection. The Game of 42 says the sealed shape is the group identity and no single member owns it. A game of 42 is a group-scale instance of the same overlap.
3. The Path Integral, T_∫(π)
[Architectural] V5 replaced additive edge value with the path integral. The equation rewards the dance, not the stance. An agent permanently at full sovereignty with no promises made has zero edge value. Value lives in the trajectory through sovereignty space.
This is the reason the Game of 42 records an ordered event log and not just an end state. A board sitting full with no record of how it filled has zero edge value, exactly as the model says. The value is the path: the ordered sequence of forty-two promises, the boundaries set, the delegations executed.
The fold is that path made visible. As the ordered fills accumulate, the lattice folds by golden angle into the star. The fold is the trajectory, not the destination. GAME-FLOW.md section 6 makes the event log the canonical artifact for this reason; GEOMETRY.md drives the fold from the count of sealed slots, which is the integral of the path so far.
Live instrument.
T_∫(π)is the path/phase family on the model atlas; its built prototype is the soulbis star (soulbis.com/star), which walks "the dance, not the stance." The territory fold is the same path integral — value accruing along the trajectory, not at any single filled slot.
The model also grounds this in time: privacy unfolds in time, a boundary sufficient last year is porous this year. The game inherits this through the integrity gate h(τ): a slot advances only while its evidence holds.
4. The 64-vertex lattice and the holographic bound
[Architectural for the roots, Conjectural for the ratio]
The six roots are the six stratum-1 basis vectors of the 64-vertex sovereignty lattice, count C(6,1) = 6, exact. This is the load-bearing binding.
The model's holographic result: the 96-edge boundary encodes the 64-vertex bulk, ratio 96/64 = 1.5, the same superlinear exponent P^1.5 carried since V2, conjecture C4 resolved by the holographic principle. The boundary is always enough.
The Game of 42 embodies the principle, not the specific 96/64 count. The group seal is computed over the boundary (the forty-two kappa-labels, which are the promise edges) plus the folded geometry hash. The boundary suffices to identify the whole game. You never hash the interior states; the edge-labels and the fold are enough. That is boundary-encodes-bulk at game scale.
[Conjectural, ~0.55] The game's 42 is the 6 axes times 7 faculty stations product subset. The constructive-cone identity 1+6+15+20=42 is a second numerical route to 42. Neither is the holographic 96/64 object; the shared principle is boundary sufficiency, recorded as resonance.
Live instrument.
P^1.5and the96/64ratio live in the conjecture register (C4) mirrored on the model atlas. The game records the kinship as resonance (~0.55), not identity — boundary sufficiency is the shared principle, not the specific count.
4b. V6 — the moving ceiling: a sealed game is not timeless
[Architectural — the V6 layer] The sections above align the game to the V5 equation, where a seal is a fixed guarantee. V6 adds the moving ceiling (C82): the person's entropy H(X) is fixed while adversarial capacity grows with frontier capability, so every static reconstruction guarantee carries a shelf life t* = sup{ t : R(t) < 1 }.
A sealed game of 42 is exactly such a static guarantee. So V6 says its seal is not timeless — it holds while R(t) < 1, and design should treat re-keying as a first-class move, not permanence. Two corollaries the V6 instruments make concrete:
- Existence-leak (C81). Each public κ-label is an existence claim; even a sealed game leaks the κ that attests it was held. Disclosure has a floor.
- Compositional leakage (C83). Chaining games without amnesia compounds toward
(2^N − 1)ε; the event-log discipline (one ordered seal, no replayed interior) is the amnesia that caps it atNε.
This is an addition, not a correction: the V5 fold is unchanged; V6 just dates its shelf life. See the moving-ceiling, existence-leak, and compositional-leakage instruments on the atlas.
5. Dual agent, the dihedral group, two reflections
[Architectural] The model starts from two: Swordsman and Mage, the algebra of two reflections (neg and bnot) composing into sovereignty, the dihedral foundation of the lattice. It must always start with two.
In the game, two of the six roots are those two agents: protection (Swordsman, amber-gold ⚔️) and delegation (Mage, sapphire-blue 🧙). Their separation is the Gap ⿻, an irreducible promise of the superagent that neither holds alone. The game honours this as architecture over policy: a slot fills through a structural VRC ceremony, never a contractual click. The ⊥ in the seal (⚔️⊥⿻⊥🧙)😊 is the same ⊥ the board enforces.
6. VRC, RPP, Promise Theory
[Architectural] Filling a slot is a VRC: a promise bundle formed when candidate and root derive matching compressions through the Relationship Proverb Protocol. Polarity is the Promise Theory ±. The autonomy axiom holds: a candidate promises only their own participation, and no one promises on their behalf, which is why the board cannot be filled by fiat.
| Promise Theory term | Game of 42 |
|---|---|
| Promise bundle | one VRC edge per slot |
| Assessment | the trust task verifying knowledge transfer occurred |
| RPP compression | the kappa-label over the VRC |
| Irreducible promise (the Gap) | the ⊥ between the protection and delegation roots |
| Invitation pattern | a candidate accepts before a slot proposes work to them |
Compression context: RPP yields the documented 70:1 coordination efficiency, and the spellbook compression runs to ~125:1. The kappa-label is the slot-scale compression. See TRUST-PROTOCOL.md.
7. Four Forces and the six roots
[Architectural] The model names Four Forces inside the agent axis: Protect ⚔️, Project 🧙, Reflect 🪞 (temporal memory, emergent from the Swordsman's boundary history), Connect 🤝 (network, emergent from the Mage's delegation patterns). The game's six roots are the full lattice basis. Four of the six are exactly the Four Forces.
| Root (game) | Lattice dimension | Four Force | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| protection | boundary -> privacy | Protect ⚔️ | primary, Swordsman |
| delegation | agency | Project 🧙 | primary, Mage |
| memory | continuity | Reflect 🪞 | emergent from Protect |
| connection | network | Connect 🤝 | emergent from Project |
| compute | intelligence -> learning | (none) | the inference and learning axis |
| value | capital -> compliance | (none) | the 7th-capital and economic axis |
The Four Forces are the four-by-four separation matrix Σ inside Φ_agent. The six roots are the six-bit basis of the lattice. The four forces are a substructure of the six. The two roots beyond the forces, compute and value, are the learning axis and the capital axis, which is why they carry no force symbol. This is a clean reconciliation, not a clash.
8. The 7th capital and constellation evocation
[Architectural] Behavioural data is the 7th capital, kept with the First Person rather than extracted upward. A sealed game of 42 is owned by its members, not by any platform. The group identity shape is the 7th capital held at group scale.
The constellation post frames the visual directly: you map the stars one at a time, and constellation evocation is a Swordsman operation on the topology you traverse, where navigation is identity and you prove sovereignty by walking the territory. The Game of 42 is a structured constellation evocation: forty-two stars mapped one trust task at a time into six constellations that fold into the sovereignty star. The fill path is the proof of traversal.
9. Economic alignment
[Architectural, Operational where it touches money] The model's fee split is 61.8 / 38.2 transparent to shielded, the golden ratio constant. The game's fold uses the golden angle 137.50776 degrees. Same φ, two surfaces. A slot's trust task aligns to the canonical Ceremony (1 ZEC, one-time genesis of a relationship) with ongoing Signals (0.01 ZEC) sustaining it, and a candidate carries a trust tier (Blade, Light, Heavy, Dragon) as accumulated assessment. Wiring these to real value flows is out of scope for the visual build and flagged for the trust-task service.
