concept ยท shared ยท knowledge
The stellated octahedron โ two regular tetrahedra interpenetrating, the eight-pointed star. Named by Kepler (1609); depicted in Pacioli's De Divina Proportione (1509 ยท Leonardo's plates); known to earlier geometers. In the City: the Swordsman's neg-tetrahedron โฅ the Mage's bnot-tetrahedron, crossing at the gap of maximal betweenness. The soulbis /star manifold renders exactly this figure. One of many shapes the 64-vertex lattice contains. C88 (the parity cube) and C89 (the octahedral gap) formalise it.
Two tetrahedra, crossing. The star was already there between them.
