> THE DIVERGENT TALE
>
> *kept apart from the architecture so the architecture*
> *can keep its shape — the gap doing its work*

A quiet right-hand page that announces the section. Same form as the
movement dividers — spaced caps, thin rule, italic subtitle laid out
across two lines.

## What "kept apart by design" means here

The Divergent Tale is **not exiled and not in dispute**. It is kept
apart for the same reason the moon is kept apart from the earth, so
the tide can keep happening — for the same reason the swordsman is
kept apart from the mage, so the trust can keep happening. *You do
not heal a separation that is doing its job. You tend it.*

The Divergent Tale sits outside the ordered cycle of Movements One and
Two because its temporal layer is different: where the cosmological
poems work at the scale of billions of years, and the wider weave at
the scale of generations, the Last Premine is told in nine minutes —
the time it takes a sufficiently large quantum machine to crack a
public key.

The gap between the cycle and the tale is the architecture, not the
absence of architecture.

## What the section contains

A single standalone poem:

| | Title | Subtitle |
|---|-------|----------|
| · | The Last Premine | *what the corrupted soil kept, after the lattice held* |

Marked with `·` rather than a roman numeral — it sits outside the
ordered cycle.
