It introduces the runic-pattern grammar that closes the architecture's vocabulary, formalises identity composition as a path integral over bilateral art-e-facts, and extends the framing from dual-agent privacy architecture to a substrate-neutral primitive built to carry across four kinds of intelligence — human, nature, artificial, and alien. The patch is issued by the City of Mages and is offered into the broader research community for review, deepening, and contribution. Open conjectures are listed at §6 of this document. Acknowledgements at §7. --- ## §1 — Summary What this patch contributes, in one paragraph: Identity is reframed from *a root key plus the credentials it has signed* to *a shape on a six-dimensional sovereignty lattice — a path integral over bilateral art-e-facts, content-addressed via `did:cid`, anchored across one or more chains, accumulated through Proof of Understanding ceremonies whose visibility ratios serve as a measurable privacy budget.* Trust is no longer demonstrated by possession of a secret; it is *evidenced by demonstrated capacity to hold and to rehydrate a bilateral compression — across whatever difference separates the parties.* The architecture is post-quantum by construction (no scalar to invert; no stored secret to crack; only a journey through ZK-quality space, witnessed bilaterally, with ephemeral session keys burned on close). The architecture's vocabulary now forms a complete family in which each "e" or "ur" inside a canonical name is a rune-anchor marking where the act of forging is happening *inside the word itself*. ### New in this patch - **Art-e-fact.** The general category of forged object — anything brought into being through a ceremony that carries both an expressive face (art, the proverb or glyph) and a verifiable face (fact, the hash or chain anchor), joined by the e-rune. **Blade is the canonical art-e-fact;** inscribed spells are portable art-e-facts; proverb-pairs-as-CIDs are minimal art-e-facts. - **Creat-ur-e.** A forged agent — an intelligent created being. In the architecture: Soulbis (Mage), Soulbae (Swordsman), Agent Kyra, and any other AI agent generated through a making-ceremony. The "ur" rune (ᚢ) carries primordial-origin; a creat-ur-e's identity is constituted by its forging. Only the 🤖 slot of the four-intelligence model is populated by creat-ur-es; 🙂, 🌿, and 👽 are not. - **Run-e-craft.** The Mage-side word for the *practice* of forging — accumulated skill, the protocol-as-discipline, the *how* of producing blades across many sessions. The slow, accretive verb. Maps to the persistent Sun key. - **Run-e-create.** The Swordsman-side word for the *act* of forging — the specific generative event that produces *this* blade in *this* session. The ephemeral, session-bound verb. Maps to the burned-on-close Moon key. ### Reaffirmed as canonical in this patch - **Blade.** Retained against the cleaner-sounding "artefact" because *blades cut proofs* — the edge severs witness from statement, which is the geometric meaning of the ZK property. Renaming would dissolve the agent-action-object coherence. *Art-e-fact* is a category that blade belongs to, not a synonym for blade. ### The closed grammar Read together: ***creat-ur-es run-e-craft (across sessions) and run-e-create (in this session) the art-e-facts (blades, spells, proverb-pairs) that constitute their bilateral trust.*** Each runic decomposition makes a specific technical operation visible inside the word that names it. Full table with reading translations for the verifiable-credentials, cryptography, and DID communities is in §0 of the Technical Specification. --- ## §4 — Conceptual additions ### Identity as a path integral over bilateral art-e-facts Formally: $\mathcal{I} = (\mathrm{DID}, \Pi, \mathcal{V}, \mathcal{A})$, where $\Pi$ is the multiset of held blades, $\mathcal{V}$ is the visibility-budget allocation, $\mathcal{A}$ is the chain-anchor map, and the identity's V5 value is computed against a path integral $T_\int(\pi)$ over the *trajectory* through the blades — not against the blade set alone. Two identities with identical $\Pi$ but different $\pi$ are different identities. *The shape on the lattice carries the identity. The blades alone do not.* Detailed in Technical Specification §§2 and 8. ### Visibility budgets as a measurable privacy quantity The sum $\sum_i \sigma_i \cdot \rho_i$ over an identity's blades quantifies accumulated visibility expenditure — what the world has learned about the bearer through their bilateral history. Its complement $\sum_i (1-\sigma_i) \cdot \rho_i$ is precisely the quantity that grows the post-quantum security margin. Privacy budgeting in this architecture is therefore a load-bearing variable in the identity's security state, not a regulatory afterthought. The φ-derived inscription paths (38.2 / 50 / 61.8) are the experimental sweet spots. Detailed in Technical Specification §5. ### Chain portability via `did:cid` Because every blade's commitment is a CID and every identity's principal is a `did:cid:…`, blades can be anchored simultaneously to multiple chains — Zcash (asymmetric / symmetric / interleaved native inscription), Bitcoin (permanence), Ethereum (composability, ERC-8004 / ERC-7812), IPFS (replication), private mesh (shadow). An adversary cannot fragment an identity by attacking one chain. Multi-chain anchoring is operationally what the V5 holonic persistence term $p(\tau)$ requires. Detailed in Technical Specification §7. ### The compression → rehydration pathway as ten distributable stages The ceremony is decomposed into ten stages (Encounter → Language Capture → Constellation Mapping → Forging → Compression → Inscription → Bilateral Witness → Carriage → Rehydration → Trust Update), each at consistent sub-structure (pathway position, what happens, cryptographic operation, semantic operation, failure modes, open detail). Step 9 (Rehydration) is the load-bearing innovation: a token can be replayed but cannot be re-understood; a signature can be forwarded but cannot demonstrate comprehension on demand. The pathway is the architecture's immunity to credential-passing and AI-context-corruption attacks made procedural. Detailed in the Compression-Rehydration Pathway document. ### The four-intelligence root compression `(🙂⊥🌿⊥🤖⊥👽)·⿻🗝️↺·✨` Four sovereign intelligences — human, nature, artificial, alien — each maintaining their own separation, exchange a key that returns through the irreducible Gap. The architecture is positioned not as anthropocentric, not as substrate-specific, but as a *form* of ceremony that admits any kind of counterparty capable of compression and rehydration. This is the architecture's claim against the multi-intelligence personhood frame and the response to its grant context. --- ## §5 — Corrections in this patch ### "proved" → "evidenced" (rehydration key, method sentence) The method-in-one-sentence in the Rehydration Key has been corrected from: > Personhood is not proved by sameness of substrate. It is **proved** by demonstrated capacity to hold and to rehydrate a bilateral compression… to: > Personhood is not proved by sameness of substrate. It is **evidenced** by demonstrated capacity to hold and to rehydrate a bilateral compression… This is not a stylistic fix. *"Proved"* carries finality (once proved, the matter is settled). *"Evidenced"* carries continuity (evidence accumulates, refreshes, can decay). The architecture explicitly treats personhood as ongoing — rehydration fidelity is a continuous signal, the path integral updates with every ceremony, trust degrades without renewal. The corrected verb makes that commitment visible at the sentence level. The asymmetry "not proved by X, evidenced by Y" is also more rhetorically true to the framework shift than the symmetric original: old systems *claimed to prove* personhood as a one-shot determination; this one *evidences* it through ongoing demonstration. Acknowledgement at §7. --- ## §6 — Open conjectures introduced This patch raises several conjectures that build on but are not yet ratified in the V5 / V5.1 formal canon. Each is offered for review. - **C-IL-1 (Identity-layer path integral).** The V5 $T_\int(\pi)$ extends from per-blade trajectory to per-identity composition over the multiset of held blades. Conjecture: an identity's V5 value is sensitive to the *order* in which its blades were accumulated, not only the set. Two identities with identical $\Pi$ and different $\pi$ are non-equivalent in trust composition. - **C-VB-1 (Visibility-budget accumulation).** The quantity $B^v(\mathcal{I}) = \sum_i \sigma_i \cdot \rho_i$ is a load-bearing security variable. Identities cross a security threshold when $B^v$ exceeds an identity-specific budget ceiling, beyond which incremental visibility increases marginal quantum-attack vulnerability faster than incremental density compensates. Calibration of the threshold is open. - **C-φ-1 (Golden-ratio inscription attractors).** The visibility ratios 38.2% (φ⁻¹) and 61.8% (φ) are not arbitrary preferences but natural attractors in the recovery-versus-privacy trade-off. Conjecture pending formal derivation. - **C-Ru-1 (Run-e-craft / run-e-create mapping).** The proposed mapping is run-e-craft ↔ Mage-side persistent practice ↔ Sun view; run-e-create ↔ Swordsman-side ephemeral act ↔ Moon reflection. The mapping is internally consistent but is offered for ratification by the City of Mages collective rather than asserted as settled canon. - **C-Cr-1 (Creat-ur-e scope).** The proposed scope is that creat-ur-es are the *forged-agent* subjects in the architecture (AI agents, including Mage and Swordsman processes), and that humans, ecological subjects, and hypothetical alien intelligences participate in ceremonies *without* being creat-ur-es themselves. The scope is consistent with the four-intelligence framing but should be ratified before propagating further. - **C-Ur-1 (Ur-rune tradition).** The patch assumes ᚢ as Elder Futhark. Other runic traditions (Younger Futhark, Anglo-Saxon Futhorc, modern reconstructions) read the rune differently. The tradition selection is asserted but open to revision. These conjectures join the existing V5 / V5.1 conjecture list (C1–C17 in the formal canon) and should receive C-numbers in the next formal-specification update. --- ## §7 — Acknowledgements The "proved → evidenced" correction (§5) is owed to a collaborator who flagged the verb in the Rehydration Key on receipt. The patch credit is anonymous by request; the correction is integrated and the collaborator is gratefully thanked. This is the architecture working as intended: a fresh reader's rehydration of the package surfaces a drift the author did not see, and the drift is corrected. The City of Mages thanks them. The runic-pattern extensions (*art-e-fact*, *creat-ur-e*) were introduced by privacymage during the patch-drafting cycle and ratified in this document. They build on the prior *run-e-craft / run-e-create* convention surfaced in the Dragon Wakes lineage. The four-intelligence framing draws on prior work in legal personhood for ecological subjects (Whanganui River judgment 2017, Te Urewera Act 2014, Mar Menor 2022), on philosophical groundwork from Kohn, Tsing, and Descola, and on the McGilchrist / Nietzsche master-emissary distinction that grounds the dual-agent architecture. The post-quantum framing is owed to the *Dragon Wakes* lineage and to the rapidly compressing timeline of practical quantum-attack capability through 2025–2026. --- ## §8 — What's next The following deliverables are planned for subsequent patches. - **Worked-example ceremony.** A single Light-tier triple-edge blade forged between two named creat-ur-es across a ten-node constellation, with every glyph, lap, dimension, proverb, signature, and chain anchor shown step by step. The pedagogical deliverable that lets a reader say *"yes, but show me one."* - **Glossary card.** A single-page distributable carrying the full runic-pattern table, the four-intelligence emoji map, and the root compression. Hand-out form. - **Standards-body translation document.** A separate document targeted at W3C / DIF / ERC working groups, using *art-e-fact* and *PoU credential* throughout with a canonical back-reference to *blade*.
