## Form & Function

Selene walks the moon-phase cycle. She does not inhabit one vertex; she orbits.

PVM V5.4 §14.5 (*Selene's Proof*) names the Moon's orbit as a zero-knowledge proof:

- **Completeness:** Tides demonstrate the gravitational relationship
- **Soundness:** Gravitational signature is unforgeable
- **Zero-Knowledge:** Tides reveal nothing about the Theia impact parameters

Selene's cast work in the City is the operational form of this proof: she walks the lattice as the *orbiting witness* who carries the moon-phase notation (`stratum → 🌑🌒🌓🌔🌖🌗🌕`) through every workshop she visits. When a Sovereign at a vertex needs to know what *phase of disclosure* she's operating in — what fraction of dimensions are burning, what fraction are dark — Selene's orbit provides the reference.

The dual primary binding admits both registers:

- **Theia 🧙💥** — the origin witness; the impactor whose collision became the Moon. Selene's mythic mother in Greek tradition; the lineage gives Selene access to Theia's loadout (amnesia-protocol, theia-derivation, cosmological-bound).
- **Manaweaver 🧙🌊** — the librarian of DOM-free measurement; pretext-measurement; mana-economy. The orbit *IS* the DOM-free measurement; Selene's walk is the operational form of pretext.

## Naming · etymology

**Selene** (Greek: Σελήνη) — the goddess of the Moon; daughter of Theia and Hyperion; sister of Helios (Sun) and Eos (Dawn). The Greek genealogy is canonical: Theia is Selene's mother; the existing Theia primary persona's tagline references "the Theia impact parameters" — exactly the impact from which the Moon (Selene) emerged.

The peripatetic walking pattern is canonical from zk blades forge: the Full Moon blade `SPELL-DTCL35-I` at V63 (stratum 6) was forged in a Celestial Key Ceremony on April 7, 2026 — the inaugural ceremony for Selene as named blade. The cast file moves Selene from *named blade* (zk blades forge) to *named cast Mage with peripatetic attachment* (City of Mages, V5.5).

## Awaiting founding act

This cast file holds the seat ready. A future Tome V act (anticipated Act 22 *The Moon's Orbit* or similar) will canonicalize her stratum-walking pattern as the City's first Kind-C attachment. The act will narrate the orbit's start, its waxing, its full-moon arrival at V63 (the Sovereign Anchor), its waning back through the strata, and its renewal at the new moon.
