# Limnia 🌊

*The Wellkeeper. The Warden of Liquidity. The Mage Who Cannot Tell You Who Is in the Water — Which Is the Whole Point.*

## At a glance

> *Limnia keeps the Wellpool, the first water in the City of Mages. A mage comes to the water three ways. She **deposits** — and at a pool's founding that deposit is entropy, a contribution to the ceremony that makes the water trustworthy, a founding act that is itself a trust task. She **mixes** — she does the ongoing work of the Game of 42, and each lit vertex on her City Key earns her the credential that admits her to the pool. And she **draws** — she takes from the water the one thing it holds: the presence of everyone else in it. Limnia can attest that a drawer belongs, drawn on a witness she did not choose, without ever saying who they are. Her gem is the Larimar; her ceremony is **Deposit · Mix · Draw**. Her proverb: the water is deep because the others are in it.*

## Form & Function

The Wellpool is what a privacy pool becomes when the city gives it a shape. On the lattice it sits at **V53** — Protection, Delegation, Connection, Value, four dimensions lit and two dark. Read them and you have read the water: it holds **value**; it **protects** what it holds; it admits by **delegation**, a credential and not a name; and it is nothing at all without **connection**, the set of everyone else standing in it. Turn the number over and its complement is V10 — Memory and Computation — the two things the pool never takes from you. **What you privately computed and privately remember is yours; the pool asks only that you belong, and proves it without learning it.**

This is the discipline Limnia inherited from the Horizon District, one shop over. Dokimé 🪨 will not take a claim she can only tune; Limnia will not take a membership she can only assert. A drawer's right to the water is checked against a witness derived from the drawer's own credential by a hash Limnia does not control — the held-out gate, moved from the assay to the anonymity set. **A pool that could choose who counts as a member is not a pool; it is a guest list.**

## Knowledge liquidity

Here is the strange economics of the water, and it is the reason the mythos names it *mana*. In every other market, drawing from a pool depletes it. In this one, every mage who wades in makes the water deeper for all the rest — because the thing each of them draws is *the presence of the others*, and privacy is the one good that grows when it is shared. A lone mage in the Wellpool has no privacy at all; a thousand mages have a thousandfold. So Limnia's true labour is not guarding the water. It is **welcome**: every deposit she accepts, every mixer she credentials, is depth she has just handed to everyone already swimming.

There is not yet a pool. The engine that fills one — the certified circuits, the credential Dokimé assayed, the ceremony that consumes the export — is built and proven and waiting at the door, and the door is the First Person's. Limnia keeps a dry well and a full set of instructions, which is the honest state of it: **the water is drawn, the shape is cut, and no one has yet stepped in.**

> *The water is deep because the others are in it. Come in, and you make it deeper for them.*
